Why is biodiversity so important? Well, nature, in all its beautiful ways, is the foundation of life and we are all connected to each other in some way. The bee pollinates our flowers, the tree-root systems purify our water and insects break down our waste.
Sad to say, that this complex ecosystem, our circle of life, is getting more damaged everyday by the acts of humankind. Unsustainable agriculture, urbanization or overfishing are activities that can cause huge damage to the system. It’s slowly pushed to a ‘tipping point’ and cease to perform as it has been performing. Since we never know when this point is reached it’s much wiser to never reach it in the first place.
To stop the loss of biodiversity, the aim of this EU campaign is to provoke intense debate about the subject and create awareness of the problem amongst leaders and citizens. Because we are all in this together!
That’s why, tomorrow at one, we will start our first international campaign in the name of biodiversity! We will launch the campaign at the Amsterdam Nieuwmarkt, where someone special (Who would it be? See for yourself tomorrow….) will make an enormous GreenGraffiti® artwork, live!
We invite you to come and have a look and join us at the event. When you have little kids, feel free to take them with you as we have a nice gift for them so that they can participate.
We will keep you updated as in the next couple of weeks we will execute the campaign in many more European countries.
